Cushman & Wakefield is pleased to present its Q2 2016 Investment MarketBeat report series for Australia.
- Investment activity gained momentum over Q2 2016 with a late flurry of deals driving the total volume to $6.8bn. While volume has increased quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q), the number of deals has slowed.
- The retail sector rebounded strongly over the quarter and investment in industrial assets was also comparatively strong. The office sector saw more muted growth, with assets in this sector becoming increasingly tightly held.
- Offshore investor activity increased in absolute terms in Q2 2016 to $2.2bn. In line with total purchasing activity, the quarter saw offshore investors diversify out of the office sector into retail and industrial assets.
