Cushman & Wakefield continue to bolster their retail presence with the appointment of Michael Di Carlo as Director of Retail Leasing and Allison Hall as Associate Director, Retail Advisory.

Michael joins Cushman & Wakefield from Savills, where he oversaw the Victorian retail leasing team as the Divisional Director for Retail Services. During this time Michael completed flagship retail deals on Bourke Street Mall and iconic Melbourne retail landmark destinations including Swanston, Elizabeth and Collins Streets, servicing a diverse range of clients including Christian Dior and Foot Locker. Whilst with Savills, Michael was also awarded both the Property Professional and Agent of the Year awards.

Allison holds over 15 years' property experience, joining Cushman & Wakefield from The Just Group, where she was responsible for national leasing and property management for seven Just Group brands; Peter Alexander, Smiggle, Jay Jays, Just Jeans, Jacqui E, Dotti and Portmans as part of a team of five Leasing Executives. Allison’s experience is diverse having worked with the likes of Bardot and Starbucks Coffee and managing retail leasing for Westpac, Suncorp, ANZ and Telstra.

The appointments and recent expansion follows the significant growth of Cushman & Wakefield's Australian agency platform, which over the last 18 months has increased its Australian team by around 100 new agency appointments, continuing to embed market position. The appointments also coincide with Cushman & Wakefield’s recent relocation to DEXUS Property Group’s 385 Bourke Street office in the Melbourne CBD, where the business has taken up two floors, totalling 2,400m².

Commenting on the rapid expansion of their eastern seaboard agency business James Patterson, Chief Executive Cushman & Wakefield Australia and New Zealand said “We want to be among the top three in every market in the world. Melbourne is a key retail destination, Cushman & Wakefield’s Main Streets Across the World report ranked Bourke Street Melbourne Mall as the fifth most expensive retail location in Asia Pacific, so it’s logical that we continue to expand our presence”. National Director of Retail Ben Tremellen added: “Melbourne has recently seen several high profile market entries, however competition remains fierce with international retailers vying for quality retail locations to launch their brands in Australia”.

“We are building an offering in the Australian marketplace that combines some of the best talent in the industry to create an agile, collaborative and passionate real estate services firm that helps clients transform the way people work, shop and live in an increasingly competitive marketplace” added James Patterson, Chief Executive Cushman & Wakefield Australia and New Zealand.
